Jerk Boy might be better known around here as one half of clipp.art’s label boss combo Jack N Jerk, but his first solo double play on our beloved little imprint certainly warrants a spotlight of its own. Opener “Sunny” debuted on the recent Sloth Boogie clipp.art mix and has had heads track id-ing their brains out. This is pure disco joy edit vibes - the kind of music that grabs you at the bar while your fingering a baccardi and coke and throws you unmercifully onto the dancefloor. You find yourself thrusting at the speaker and pointing at objects. You start to sweat and find yourself singing along like you’ve known these words your whole life but you’ve only heard the looped vocal a couple times. You nod and grind. Yes, it’s that sort of tune.

The term “Funky Break” gets thrown around a lot these days but reverse side track “Over You” arrives with a break of such funkiness that its all we can do to not feel ourselves drawn into the rythmn. It’s all there really.. Jazz elements, discordant pands, grunts, a banging backline, if you need something more you should probably remove yourself from our mailing list.
